The Australian Delegation from Macquarie University Met with the SBMU Executive Advisor and Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs

Sunday November 22, 2015, the SBMU Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs hosted the Australian Delegation from Macquarie University headed by Ms. Michele Robinson, Vice-Chancellor’s Assistant in International Relations, Professor Guillemin, Deputy Director of Neurodegenerative diseases Research Center, Dr. yinan Kong, Deputy Director of Research Office and Mr.  Ala Altaani, in Charge of student admission from Asia.

The meeting was held at the office of the SBMU Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs during which Dr. Rosekh, SBMU Executive Advisor and Directorate of international Relations,Dr. Tarokh and Dr.Veisi, staff of the International Affairs, attended.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Tarokh introduced Shahid Beheshti Medical University and gave a brief overview of the history, educational, research and therapeutical capabilities of this university. Afterwards, Ms. Robinson provided the participants with an introduction about the field of activities in Macquarie University. Then, Professor Guillemin, Dr. Kongand Mr. Altaanigave further information regarding different aspects of activities in that university and expressed their interest in mutual collaboration.

Having considered the interest of the Australian delegation to develop collaborative relations, Dr. Rosekh led the meeting with more detailed and specific data and statistical figures. She also referred to the interest of Shahid Beheshti Medical University to collaborate with its Australian counterpart in the area of joint research studies, clinical activities as well as student and professor exchange.

In the end, they agreed to have another meeting in March 2016 and develop a Memorandum of Understanding regarding collaboration between the two universities in the future.
